abstract
This update is for NetWare 5.1. JAVA.NLM has been updated to correct the problem of files being inadvertently closed, especially on high speed processors. When NetWare 5.1 Support Pack 1 ships, a fixed JAVA.NLM will be included that contains the same fix that this file contains.
installation
Prior to installing any update to your server you should ensure that you have a reliable backup.
To patch the server prior to installation of NetWare 5.1:
1. Copy the NWPA.NLM into the C:\NWUPDATE directory.
2. Copy the PROXY.ZIP into the C:\NWUPDATE directory.
To patch the server after it is already installed:
1. Copy the NWPA.NLM into the C:\NWSERVER directory.
2. Copy the JAVA.NLM into the SYS:JAVA\BIN directory.
issue
1. Java hang with no retry window. This has been fixed by the Java team with a new JAVA.NLM.
2. Media Manager hang when changing CD media. This is fixed with a the NWPA.NLM.
3. Java file copy failure. A premature file descripter close in JAVA.NLM that has existed since we shipped NW 5.0. Also fixed in a new JAVA.NLM.
