                          MAILMOVE.EXE

Mailmove is a DOS Based utility that will move all of a user's mail (including folders and
attachments) from a Banyan Intelligent Messaging mail store to GroupWise.

The application reads the Banyan mail folder by folder, deletes each message as it is copied, and
builds input files for the GroupWise DOS API gateway. The API command files are placed in the
directory API_IN. Messages and attachments are put in the ATT_IN directory. Both of these
directories must exist where the mailmove program is run.

You must log in to VINES as the user whose Banyan mail box you are going to move.

     Usage is: MAILMOVE GWuser

Where GWuser is the fully qualified GroupWise user name of the receiving mail user. If the
name contains spaces - enclose it in quotes. The GroupWise user name is not validated so syntax
and spelling must be exactly correct.

The Banyan Mail service name is read from the SETMAIL statement in the user's profile. Note:
MAILMOVE will not work properly if the users SETMAIL statement has already been altered to
point to the Gateway Proxy service.

Here's an example. Let's say we want to migrate mail for a VINES user called Dave Mahoney.

His full Banyan login name is Dave Mahoney@Finance@ABC Manufacturing and his VINES
mail service is on a server called DeadWood, and his GroupWise name is USA.Webo.DMahoney.

We build a temporary directory on either a network or workstation drive with the subdirectories
ATT_IN and API_IN. We could run mailmove directly from the API gateway directory, but this
allows us a chance to check our results before we delete the input queues.

From this directory, run: MAILMOVE USA.Webo.DMahoney.

The program will ask do you really want to move all messages from Dave
Mahoney@Finance@ABC Manufacturing to USA.WEBO.DMAHONEY? If you do, answer yes.

Copy the contents of the ATT_IN and API_IN directories to the corresponding directories on the
API gateway file service. The API gateway will move and delete the messages. After confirming
the successful insertion of the messages, you may delete the temporary directories.

Note When the mail is deleted from the Banyan Mail folders, it is moved into the wastebasket
folder, and recoverable until the mail janitor runs at 3:00 AM.
