Purpose:

Monitoring the print jobs in a print queue, for the user or administrator
requires the use of PrintCon. While PrintCon gives us power for basic
queue managment, it takes some level of training just to get users to be
be able to monitor their current jobs. If you or your users want to
monitor multiple jobs on multiple queues, it can not be accomplished on
  one screen.

QueMon provides a simple user interface to monitor the jobs in multiple
print queues on your LAN. This provides a quick way for your users to
view their print jobs, and also monitor multiple print queues.

This is a great way to monitor multiple print queues on one print server.

Configuring QueMon:

QueMon uses a configuration file QUEMON.DAT. Using a standard text
editor, load the QUEMON.DAT file and simply enter the names of the
print queues you wish to monitor. The number of monitored queues
determines the number of print jobs displayed within each queue.
Currently, QueMon has the ability to monitor up to five (5) print queues.

Starting QueMon:

At the DOS prompt enter the command, QUEMON followed by pressing the
enter key. If you are connected to a Novell network the QueMon status
screen will display your currently configured print queues and the jobs
   running on each.

Once the program is loaded QueMon continuouly monitor your print queues
and updates the display at the default rate of once per second.

The [F6] key allows the update delay to be changes to any update rate
   in seconds.

The [ESC] key simply exits the program.

Other Small Business Systems networking Products:

   - QUETSR: Allows you and your users to switch between print queues
while in another DOS program. This is a TSR that requires
               as little as 3K.

   - JOBSCHED: An advanced batch Job Scheduler. This product allows you to
set up multiple batch jobs to be run based on a complex
schedule. JobSched will also run jobs if they have not been
completed and it is past their execution time. Another
important feature of the program is that you can have many
workstations running JobSched based on the same schedule!

   - QUEMON: QueMon provides a simple user interface to monitor the jobs
in multiple print queues on your LAN. This provides a quick
way for your users to view their print jobs, and also monitor
multiple print queues. This is a great way to monitor
multiple print queues on one print server.

   - NOVPASS: This utility provides your users with a 'nicer' screen for
changing their Netware passwords. The program returns text
based errors informing them of any errors (such as entering
in a new password that it too short, etc) and allows them
to retry until a valid change has been made, or [ESC] is
               pressed.

   - MSGMGR: A TSR that monitors your workstation for those pesky network
messages. MsgMgr intercepts those messages and displays them
on a nice popup box in the center of the screen. If the user
does not acknowledge the message in a matter of seconds, the
message will pop down and allow the workstation to continue
               processing.

   - PURGEIT: A utility that allows your network volume 'clean-up' to be
somewhat automated. PurgeIt uses a list of directories and
criteria to go out and clean data off your volumes based on
DOS date age and network access date, with the ability to
include subdirectories under the specified directory. Once
complete, it executes the netware PURGE utility.
