Do your users know how much space they are using on your Netware servers?
Tired of sending e-mails to disk hogs?

SpaceChk is a small utility designed to notify a user when their disk usage
situation exceeds certain administrator defined bounds.

These are :

1. Total space used by the user on a volume is > X
2. Available space on a volume falls below X
3. Total space in a directory and sub directories exceeds X (eg Home Dir)
4. Space available in a directory falls below X (eg Checking disk limits)

Any one of these conditions, along with the value of X and a user defined
message can be set up by the administrator.

SpaceChk works quickly, and if the user is not exceeding any limits,
it will be invisible to them.

SpaceChk can be run in a number of ways, depending on your site. It
could be :

1. Run from the login script
2. Launched via the NAL window as a "Force Run" job.
3. Executed through the 95/NT policy
4. Called from a scheduling tool.

Usage :

SpaceChk Used|Free Vol|Dir Path Limit [Message]

where :

Used | Free Specifies whether you want to check if a limit has
been exceed (Used) or if the amount free has falen
                below an amount (Free)

Vol | Dir Specifies whether you wish to check an entire volume, or
                a specific directory.

Path Specifies the location to check. If you are checking a
                volume, use the format Server/Volume:
If checking a directory use the DOS path (eg h:\data)

Limit This is the amount in MB at which the Message is displayed

Message This is the message displayed if the limit is exceeded. If
This is not supplied a default message is displayed.

Sample Calls :

SpaceChk Used Vol Accounts/Data: 100 "You have exceeded your limit on Data:"
SpaceChk Free Dir H:\ 10 "There is less than 10MB available in your home dir"

SpaceChk is Shareware. This version is fully functional, but an "Unregistered"
notice will appear when it is run. The registered version naturally has
no such screen.

SpaceChk can be customised to your site if required. Need a special message?
